Courtenay
Courtenay was initially just the name of two parishes in France:
- Courtenay (Isère) in the Isère department and
- Courtenay (Loiret) in the Loiret department
The canton of Courtenay and the aristocratic Courtenay family and their heirs from the Capetian family , the House of France-Courtenay , are derived from the latter . A branch line of the original Courtenay went to England; the following places were named after her:
