The Covadonga Harbor ( Spanish Puerto Fragata Covadonga ) is a small natural harbor on the north coast of Trinity Peninsula in the north of the West Antarctic Graham Lands . It is located in the northeastern section of Huon Bay immediately south of Cape Legoupil .
Participants of the 2nd Chilean Antarctic Expedition (1947–1948) under the direction of Ernesto González Navarrete named the bay after the frigate Covadonga , one of the two ships on this expedition. The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names transferred the Spanish designation to English in 1964.
The Chilean Bernardo O'Higgins station is located on the bay .
