The Craft Glacier is a 8 km long valley glacier on Thurston Island off the coast of West Antarctic Ellsworthland . It flows west of Hendersin Knob in a southerly direction to the Abbot Ice Shelf in Peacock Sound .
Its position was determined from aerial photographs taken by the United States Navy during Operation Highjump (1946–1947) in December 1946. The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named it in 1961 after Charles Craft, a helicopter pilot aboard the icebreaker USS Glacier during the US Navy research expedition into the Bellingshausen Sea in February 1960 .
