The basis Ersin Knob is an icy hill on Thurston Island before Eights Coast of the West Antarctic Ellsworthlands . It rises between the head ends of the Craft and Rochray glaciers in the southwestern part of the island.
An initial mapping was made using aerial photographs taken by the United States Navy during Operation Highjump (1946–1947). The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named him in 1960 after Wendell Keith Hendersin (1921-1946), a radio operator on board a Martin PBM Mariner , who died on December 30, 1946 on the Noville Peninsula, along with two other crew members.
