Adama Diakhaby (born July 5, 1996 in Ajaccio ) is a French football player . The striker has been under contract with Huddersfield Town in the Premier League since summer 2018 . From there he plays on loan with the English second division club Nottingham Forest .

Career

Club career

Diakhaby began his career at SM Caen and Stade Rennes , for whose youth teams he played until 2016. In July 2016, he then signed a three-year contract with Stade Rennes. He made his professional debut on August 14, 2016 in Ligue 1 against OGC Nice , when he came on for Giovanni Sio in the 70th minute . Two weeks later, Diakhaby scored his first league goal in a 1-1 draw against HSC Montpellier . In his first season he played a total of 25 games for Rennes, scoring four goals. After a season at AS Monaco , he joined Huddersfield Town in July 2018 .

National team

Due to his Senegalese ancestry, Diakhaby is eligible to play for both the Senegalese and French national teams.
