Bolton Wanderers

Born near Manchester , Zach Clough graduated from Bolton Wanderers ' youth academy before making his professional debut on January 3, 2015 at the age of nineteen. In the 1-0 success in the third round of the FA Cup 2014/15 against Wigan Athletic , the young striker also scored the winning goal in the 76th minute. Clough also made a very successful debut in the league when he scored both goals for his team in a 2-2 draw against Wolverhampton Wanderers on January 31, 2015 . In the Football League Championship 2014/15 he scored a total of five goals in eight games before a shoulder injury in early March 2015 meant the premature end of the season.

In the 2015/16 season , Clough scored seven league goals, but at the end of the season he was relegated to the third division with Bolton as bottom of the table. In October 2016, Zach Clough was named Third Division Player of the Month after scoring four goals in EFL League One 2016/17 that month .

Nottingham Forest

On January 31, 2017, the second division Nottingham Forest announced the signing of Zach Clough and provided the 21-year-old with a contract valid until 2021. At the end of January 2018, Clough and his teammate Tyler Walker moved back to the Bolton Wanderers on loan .
