Craig Blomberg

Craig L. Blomberg (* 3. August 1955 ) is an evangelical theologian , since 1986 as a professor of New Testament at the Baptist Denver Seminary in Denver , Colorado is active and the title of Distinguished Professor holds.

Career

Craig Blomberg studied at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School in Deerfield, Illinois and Augustana College , where he graduated summa cum laude in religion, math, education and Spanish. He then received his doctorate from the University of Aberdeen ( Scotland ) on the writings and parables of Luke .

During a year of research in Cambridge he wrote The Historical Reliability of the Gospels .

Blomberg belongs to the conservative evangelical tradition, but deals with many areas of contemporary theology in his work and is known for challenging the evangelical status quo. He criticized evangelicals who flatly condemn liberation theology , and he had a dialogue with Mormon professor Stephen E. Robinson of Brigham Young University, who led to the book How Wide the Divide? An Evangelical and a Mormon in Conversation .

Blomberg wrote on a variety of topics, including poverty and wealth, hermeneutics, and women in ministry. The focus of his research is the historical Jesus and the Gospels.
