Craig Pedersen (born June 13, 1965 in North Vancouver ) is a Canadian basketball coach and former player.

Life

Pedersen played basketball at Simon Fraser University in the Canadian province of British Columbia . He moved to Denmark : From 1989 to 1994 he was under contract as a player- coach with Horsens BC, from 1994 to 2002 he was a player with city rivals Horsens IC (Danish champions 1998) and in the 2002/03 season with Skovbakken .

In 2003 Pedersen took over the position of player-coach at the Danish first division club Svendborg Basketball Club (later renamed Svendborg Rabbits ). From 2006 he was exclusively a trainer. In 2010 he led Svendborg to win the Danish championship. In 2007, 2008, 2009, 2011, 2012 and 2013 his team lost in the Danish championship final against the Bakken Bears. In 2004, 2008 and 2012 Pedersen was named Coach of the Year in the Danish League. In 2008, 2012 and 2014 Svendborg won the Danish Cup under Pedersen's leadership. Between 2003 and 2010, Pedersen was also the assistant coach of the Danish national team.

In March 2014, in addition to his duties in Svendborg, he took up the post of head coach of the Icelandic national team. In November 2015 he resigned as Svendborg's coach. He led the Icelandic selection to participate in the 2015 and 2017 European Championships.
