Armin Bohnhoff (born December 9, 1959 in Cologne ) is a German professor of logistics and real estate management and an entrepreneur .

Life

Bohnhoff made the degree of in 1979 matriculation at the Municipal School Cologne-Mülheim . He studied mechanical engineering at the RWTH Aachen and received his doctorate there in the field Cybernetic methods and didactics of engineering .

As a research assistant, he worked at RWTH Aachen University from 1987 to 1991 in the areas of combined transport and hospital logistics. From 1992 to 2005 he was managing director at DPD German Parcel Service ( Aschaffenburg ). From 2006 to 2014 he worked as Managing Director and Head of Development and Innovation at DPD GeoPost (Deutschland) GmbH (Aschaffenburg). From 2015 to 2017 he was dean of studies for the logistics and trade course at the Fresenius University of Applied Sciences in Idstein .

In 2016 he was appointed professor for logistics and real estate management at the Darmstadt University of Applied Sciences in the business department. He is also Chairman of the Advisory Board of CargoNetwork GmbH.

Bohnhoff is also the owner of a consulting company. In the local elections in Bavaria 2020 he ran for the CSU as district administrator in the Miltenberg district , although he is not a party member of the CSU, but was defeated by the incumbent Jens Marco Scherf of the Greens with 30.75% of the votes .

Bohnhoff is married and has four children. He lives in Obernburg am Main .

Focus

Bohnhoff heads the "Expert Group Logistics Real Estate" at Darmstadt University of Applied Sciences. The aim of this group of experts is to identify trends that will affect the “logistics property of the future” (2030) at an early stage and to develop appropriate solution concepts. In the course of his work, he is particularly committed to the close connection between university and company. a. developed and implemented the DPD logistics laboratory and later the logistics laboratory as a lecture concept. In addition, he worked with the students on feasibility studies on the subject of “online platforms for stationary retail ”. During his activity as the responsible Managing Director Technology & Operations at DPD GeoPost (Germany), Bohnhoff u. a. for the transfer of traffic from road to rail, the test of electric vehicles in the Stuttgart, the optimization of conventional truck transportation by means of aerodynamic load trains, the use of long-trucks and the CO 2 low-carbon center supply a.

Honorary positions

Bohnhoff has been volunteering as chairman of the transport committee at the Aschaffenburg Chamber of Commerce for more than 10 years. In addition, he was on the church council of the Evangelical Lutheran Regional Church in Obernburg for 18 years and has been the preacher of the Evangelical Lutheran Church Community at his place of residence in Obernburg since 2013 .
