The Cramoner See is a lake through which the Stepenitz flows in the municipality of Cramonshagen in the district of Northwest Mecklenburg .

The body of water is located in the northwest of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, about five kilometers northwest of the outskirts of Schwerin . The places Cramon and Cramonshagen extend on the east bank. The west bank, lined with a strip of trees, borders the municipalities of Mühlen Eichsen and Dragun . The lake, whose water surface is 43.1  m above sea level. NHN has a maximum north-south extension of 2.4 kilometers and in the south a maximum width of 350 meters. In the north, however, the channel-shaped lake is less than 200 meters wide. The Stepenitz river flows through the Cramoner See from south to north and carries the water over the Trave into the Baltic Sea.

In contrast to the upper Stepenitz lakes, the Cramoner See can develop a temperature stratification due to its greater depth and the shady bank zones . The polytrophic lake is located in the Stepenitztal nature reserve . It has stocks of eel, perch, lead, gables, pike, crucian carp, carp, roach, tench and pikeperch.

In connection with the damming of the Stepenitz in the Faulmühle reservoir located above and to the south, a pumping station was installed at the Cramoner See at the beginning of the 1980s to irrigate agricultural areas and a weir at the outflow of the lake. The latter should raise the maximum water level by about 60 cm. As a result of the subsequent use of water, water level fluctuations of up to 1.5 meters were foreseen at the time of construction.
