The Crane Cove is a 160 m wide and shallow bay on the Budd Coast of the East Antarctic Wilke country . It lies between the north side of the Bailey Peninsula and a previously unnamed island in the north in the southern part of Newcomb Bay . Its head end is characterized by numerous boulders, which separate it from a similar bay east of it.
A crew of the icebreaker USS Glacier mapped it in February 1947. At the suggestion of Lieutenant Robert Carl Newcomb (1926-2008), navigator of the USS Glacier , the bay was named after Robert I. Crane, a member of the survey team.
