The Crean Glacier is a 6 km long glacier on the north coast of South Georgia . It flows from the Wilckens Peaks in a north-westerly direction to the head end of Antarctic Bay .
The South Georgia Survey mapped it as part of its surveying campaign, which lasted from 1951 to 1957. The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee named him in 1958 after Thomas Crean (1877-1938), second officer on board the Endurance in the Endurance expedition (1914-1917) led by the British polar explorer Ernest Shackleton . The glacier is on the overland route that Shackleton, Crean and Frank Worsley took after their rescue trip from Elephant Island from King Haakon Bay to Stromness .
