The Crean Lake is a lake in South Georgia in the South Atlantic . It is located west of the Shackleton Valley in the Bosom region .
The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee named it in 2013. It is named after the Irish Able Seaman and polar explorer Thomas Crean (1877–1938), who lived in 1916 together with Ernest Shackleton and Frank Worsley as part of the Endurance Expedition (1914–1917) to rescue the Expedition members stranded on Elephant Island successfully crossed South Georgia for the first time.
