Crepis pusilla is a species of plant in the genus Pippau ( Crepis ) in the sunflower family (Asteraceae).

features

Crepis pusilla is an annual rosette therophyte that reaches heights of 1 centimeter. The plant is stemless. The baskets, arranged in 2 to 8 balls, are in the center of the flattened leaf rosette. The crown is whitish. Most of the fruits are elongated, compressed and whitish. Some of the outer fruits are thicker, curved, brownish and enclosed by the hardened inner bracts.

The flowering period extends from April to May.

Occurrence

Crepis pusilla occurs in the Mediterranean area. The distribution area includes Portugal, Mallorca, Malta, Crete, Cyprus, the Aegean Sea and Turkey. The species grows at step and open pioneer spots on clay, which is deep and alternately dry. In Crete it is found at altitudes from 0 to 700 meters.
