Cribbage pool
Cribbage Pool (also called Cribbage Pocket Billiards , Fifteen Points , Pair Pool or simply Cribbage ) is a pool variant .
Game thought
Cribbage can be played by 2 single players as well as by 2 teams with 15 balls at a common pool table. Coin tables are not suitable for this game, as balls sunk with a foul must be put back on the table. The object of the game is to pocket a pair of balls that add up to 15. Such a couple is called a cribbage.
Eight cribbages are possible: 1-14, 2-13, 3-12, 4-11, 5-10, 6-9, 7-8 and 15. The player / team with the most cribbages (≤5) wins .
construction
The balls are set up with the conventional triangle as follows:
- Ball No. 15 is in the middle (at the point where the black 8 is on the 8-ball )
- no two of the three corner points may add up to 15
- all other positions are not subject to any particular order. This results in 134,120,448,000 possible construction variants (14 × 12 × 10 × 2 × 11!)
- the tip of the triangle is placed on the base point .
opening
As with the 8-ball , either an object ball must be pocketed or 4 other object balls must touch a board. Contrary to the 8-ball, the balls do not have to be announced. The first ball of a pair determines the second ball.
If several balls fall during the impact, a cribbage can be formed with each of these balls. If not all cribbages of this recording can be formed, then all cribbages that are still open are placed back on the base and your own recording is finished. If balls that result in a cribbage have fallen during the kick-off, they are counted as correctly sunk cribbage.
regulate
If a ball is pocketed in accordance with the rules, the next ball must be the one that adds up to 15 with the one previously pocketed. If this is not the case, it is a foul and means the end of the recording. Balls that do not result in cribbage are rebuilt at the base. The 15 may only fall as the last cribbage and counts as a single pair. If 15 is not the last to fall, it will be rebuilt at the base. If the foot point is already occupied, all of the following are set up behind it in a line towards the foot board. As long as correctly sunk cribbages are being played, the player remains at the table.
Fouls
The general pool rules apply. No penalty points are given. After each foul, the opponent has two options: Either he takes over the position or he has "ball in hand" and can put the ball in a position behind the head line and continue playing from there. If the number 15 falls prematurely in the course of the game, i.e. not last, the admission will be ended without a foul score.
