Crisis is a British punk band that was founded in 1977 and the socialism was close to.

history

Crisis was founded in 1977 in Guildford , England . In the 1970s, rhythm guitarist Douglas Pearce claimed to have encouraged bassist Tony Wakeford to form the band, but in a 2006 interview, the opposite was true. The band has often performed at rock-against-racism events. Pearce described the band as both Trotskyist and a mix of socialists, communists and pacifists. Your texts were politically influenced and directed against the British government and National Socialism. Crisis was even referred to as “ red fascist ”. The style of the band is described by deathrock.com as rhythmic, structured and poetic and compared to that of bands such as Warsaw , UK Decay , The Royal Family and some bands from the Crass Records environment . A comparison with the band Crass (“[Crass and Crisis] both signaled the end of punk as fun, spontaneity, massiveness and anarchy (as a way of feeling). In this new 'new wave' of punk, punk was seen as a tool of protest ... "), Pearce said that he had no connection with Crass and that he did not know her during the crisis, and turned a statement from the Crass song" Do They Owe Us a Living? "around:" "Do they owe us a living?" Of course they fucking DON'T! "

The band broke up in 1980. Pearce and Wakeford, who then founded the controversial band Death in June together with Patrick Leagas, which took over into their repertoire the piece "All Alone in Her Nirvana", which they wrote during the Crisis era, said the reason was from the left to be disappointed ("Death In June was our reaction to the way the left had treated us" - Pearce). The sound of Death in June was initially anchored in post-punk , later the band became the pioneer of Neofolk . After Wakeford left Death in June 1983, he founded Above the Ruins and, after their dissolution, Sol Invictus . After the end of Crisis, drummer Luke Rendle played with The Pack's Kirk Brandon at the Theater of Hate . Lead guitarist Lester Jones formed Carcrash International with members of the Sex Gang Children band . Pearce stated in an interview that, with the exception of Wakeford, he was no longer in contact with anyone from his time in the punk scene.

In 2005, the CD “Holocaust Hymns” was released as a jewel case , containing all of the band's publications in a remastered version and a twelve-page booklet with exclusive photos from Douglas Pearce's private archives.

In 2017 the band was reactivated in a different form and gave concerts again.
