Crocothemis is a genus of dragonflies (Anisoptera) from the subfamily Sympetrinae and wasset upin 1868 by Friedrich Moritz Brauer . The species of this genus are distributed worldwide. One of the reasons for this is that some species, such as Crocothemis servilia, colonizenew habitats .
features
Crocothemis species are medium-sized dragonflies and grow to be 41 to 43 millimeters in size. Most representatives are bright red, only Crocothemis sanguinolenta and Crocothemis nigrifrons are orange and blue, respectively.
