Crown was a Swiss rock band from the 1970s and 1980s.

history

In 1978 Karel Káša Jahn, George Kozel and Peter Netopil, three native Czechs, founded the band Crown with Patrick Mason in Zurich. Under contract with Polydor Records International, they recorded two records in 1979 ( Crown ) and 1981 ( We Need You ). In 1980 Patrick Mason left the band for a while and was replaced by David Byron , ( Uriah Heep ). On their tours all over Europe they performed with Mother's Finest , Frankie Miller, John Hiseman, Beach Boys , Roger Chapman , George Thorogood, Keith Emerson and others. a. on. In 1983 another contract followed with Disctrade Switzerland. It was not until 1984 that the record Red Zone , which was recorded in Geneva at Aquarius Studios, was released. During the recording there was a change in the constellation, guitarist and singer Patrick Mason left the band and switched to Krokus shortly after the first recordings were made . Karel Káša Jahn took over the vocals, Marc Portmann the guitar. In 1984 they signed a recording deal with Thunderbolt Records (Magnum Music Group) in Great Britain, which produced All That Rock & Roll Music , Crown's fourth record.
