The Cryosat Ice Stream is an ice stream on the English coast of the Palmerland in the southern part of the Antarctic Peninsula . It flows northwest of the Savin Nunatak and 40 km southeast of the Eklund Islands in a westerly direction to the George VI Ice Shelf in George VI Sound .
The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee named it in 2018. It is named after the satellites CryoSat-1 and CryoSat-2 , which were used for remote sensing of the Antarctic.
