Cristóbal Emilio Torres Ruiz (born December 27, 1976 in Ahlen , Germany ) is a Spanish soccer player . The defender is under contract with Gimnàstic de Tarragona .
Career
Born in Germany , the Spaniard began his career in Damn CF's youth. About UD Gramanet we went to Valencia . There he played regularly for the B team for two years. The right-back was then loaned by Valencia to Recreativo Huelva (1999/2000) and CD Tenerife (2000/01), with whom he made promotion to the top division under coach Rafa Benítez . At the beginning of the 2001/02 season Curro Torres came back to Valencia. There he was one of the central figures who contributed to the fact that Valencia was twice champions ( 2002 , 2004 ) and once UEFA Cup winner ( 2004 ) - again under Rafa Benitez. From 2005 on, Curro Torres was plagued by injuries, so that he could only record three missions during the 2005/06 season . In the following season it was already their 17. During the 2007/08 season Curro Torres was loaned to Valencia's first division rivals Real Murcia , as his chances of a regular place at Valencia due to the strong performance of his worst rival Miguel were not particularly high before the season . Since Curro Torres was seriously injured during the season and was out until the end of the season, he had to vacate his place in the team, so that in the end he was under contract as a non-registered player in Murcia. After his return to Valencia CF in the 2008/09 season , he only played two games in the UEFA Cup and came on a league appearance in the last game of the season. In the 2009/10 season he moved to Gimnàstic de Tarragona .
Curro Torres played five times for the Spanish national team . He played his first game in November 2001 in a 1-0 win over Mexico . He was part of Spain's squad for the 2002 World Cup , where he played a game.
