Curt Bry
Curt Bry (born January 16, 1902 in Berlin , † 1974 in Los Angeles ) was a German cabaret artist .
Life
Bry was considered one of the leading cabaret writers in Berlin in the early 1930s, where he was also the in-house writer for The Catacomb . After the National Socialists came to power , they ended his career.
He wrote, for example, the chansons ship boy song and sea shanty in three colors , which were interpreted by Lale Andersen .
In 1933 Bry emigrated to Amsterdam and worked with the ping-pong ensemble (cabaret) . Curt Bry moved to Vienna in 1935 . Ultimately he had to emigrate to the United States in 1938, where his career in the entertainment industry ended.
A star on the Walk of Fame of the cabaret in Mainz is dedicated to him.
