He later appeared in almost all of their appearances for more than thirty years. In 1981 his parents bought Zarah Leander's stage costumes. These were the basis for Delander's large collection of costumes and memorabilia.

In 1994 he left his collection, which, in addition to the diva's valuable evening dresses, also contains jewelry, accessories and countless mementos, to the Bonn City Museum .

In addition to his artistic activities, he supported, among other things, the newly founded association for hospice work “Bonn Lighthouse” in Bonn in 1992, particularly in the founding years, and in 2006 the citizens' initiative “Rettet das Metropol”. It preserves the memory of the Gertrudis Chapel in Bonn's Rheinviertel, which was destroyed in World War II . It stood in Giergasse (Gertrudgasse) until the bombing and was long forgotten.

Curt Delander is an avowed gay and Catholic . He lives with his partner in the inner northern part of Bonn.
