Curt Horst , also Kurt Horst , (born September 4, 1902 in Mönchengladbach ; † April 22, 1990 in Mönchengladbach-Rheindahlen ) was a German politician of the NSDAP and district leader of the district of Erkelenz .

Live and act

After attending primary and secondary school in Mönchengladbach, Curt Horst learned the trade. In 1926 he settled in Erkelenz and founded a cardboard packaging company.

In 1930 Horst joined the NSDAP and took over the NSDAP local group in Erkelenz, from September 1, 1932 to February 26, 1945 he was district leader, since 1941 full-time.

During one of the many election campaigns of 1932, he was shot in the thighbone. After 1933 Horst was a member of the city council, the district council and the district committee. In 1933/1934 he was acting head of the Kreissparkasse.

From March 1936 until the end of Nazi rule in spring 1945, Horst was a member of the National Socialist Reichstag , in which he represented constituency 20 (Cologne-Aachen).

From October 27, 1945 to 1948 Horst was interned in the Recklinghausen camp . On March 19, 1948, he was sentenced by the second ruling chamber of the Recklinghausen ruling court for belonging to the corps of political leaders of the NSDAP to a prison sentence of 5 years, taking into account the internment detention he had suffered. In autumn 1948 the trial of those responsible for the November 1938 Erkelenz pogrom took place before the Mönchengladbach regional court, one of the accused was Horst. In February 1949 the court sentenced him to a prison term of 5 years and 10 months for " crimes against humanity " - including the prison sentence imposed by the verdict court. In December 1950 he was released on parole. After his release he lived in Erkelenz.
