In the 1930s, Paddy DeConnley began farming the land. He named the farm Mount Conner Station after the nearby mountain Mount Conner . In 1940, Abraham Andrews leased the station along with other surrounding crown land , and the farm became known as Curtin Springs Station . In 1956, the farm was taken over by the Severin family, who still manage it today.
Water for the station and the livestock is obtained from groundwater, which is carried to the surface by diesel or solar-powered pumps as well as wind turbines. Recently, Murray Gray cattle have been bred more and more .
The Severin family offers overnight accommodation and other services for tourists. In addition to some rooms, there is a free and a paid electrified campsite . Due to the location in a very dry area, there is an additional charge for showering. As a tourist attraction, the station stops birds and emus near the pub . Local tour operators offer trips to Lake Amadeus and Mount Conner.
