Cvetka Ahlin 1953

Cvetka Ahlin (born November 28, 1927 in Ljubljana , Kingdom of Yugoslavia , † July 30, 1985 in Hamburg ) was a Slovene opera singer (mezzo-soprano).

Life

Ahlin studied at the Music Academy in Ljubljana, where she was a student of Julius Betetto . In 1951 she passed her exams as a music teacher. She later continued her education in Munich, where she won first prize in the International Singing Competition of the European Broadcasters in 1954.

She began her artistic career at the Opera of the Slovenian National Theater in her hometown of Ljubljana. Ahlin was a member of the Hamburg State Opera from 1956 to 1974 . Her outstanding roles were Lotte in Massenets Werther and Amneris in Aida .

In 1974 she received a teaching position at the Lübeck University of Music.
