Cynthia Montgomery

Cynthia A. Montgomery (* 1952 ) is an American economist and university professor .

Career, research and teaching

Montgomery studied psychology and philosophy at Chatham College , where she in 1974 as a Bachelor of Arts graduate . She then moved to Purdue University , where she completed a Master of Science degree in economics two years later . She completed her Ph.D. three years later. - Studied at college before joining the University of Michigan as a lecturer . In 1985, she accepted a professorship at Northwestern University , where she researched and taught at the Kellogg School of Management . In 1989 she moved to Harvard Business School .

Montgomery's work and research focus is on strategy and corporate governance , with particular emphasis on issues relating to corporate management and companies with various branches of business. To this end, she has already written or (co-) edited five books.

She sat on the boards of two Fortune 500 companies , namely Newell Brands and UnumProvident , as well as various non-profit organizations .
