Cyril Bunclark (born March 27, 1931 in Rotherham ; † July 7, 2018 there ) was an English football player .

Career

Bunclark came to Rotherham United from local football in 1953 and initially played for the reserve team in the Midland League , but he had to wait until October 1954 for an appearance in the first team. On the occasion of an away game in the Second Division at Hull City , he represented the injured regular right winger Jacky Grainger . After just 14 minutes, he headed his debut to take the 1-0 lead for the then leaders, Rotherham won the game 2-1. A week later in another away game at Anfield Road against Liverpool , Bunclark was in the starting line-up when both wingers represented Rotherhams "a source of danger", but the 3-1 defeat was to be his last appearance in the Football League.

For the 1956/57 season he left Rotherham and moved to the Midland League playing club Wisbech Town , where he was one of several newcomers with Football League experience alongside the former Irish international Jimmy Hartnett , Bill Watkin , Bill Cleary and Graham Wood from player- coach Reg Foulkes was. In the fall, he benefited from the loan signing of Wally Hughes from Sheffield United, on whose side he scored two goals each in consecutive games against the reserve teams of Lincoln City and Scunthorpe United .

In the spring of 1957 he moved in exchange for Harry Adamson within the Midland League to Gainsborough Trinity . There Bunclark, who was known for pulling the ball inwards, played in attack with Gladstone Guest , Colin Martin and Terry Jenkins with several ex-Rotherham players. For the 1958/59 season he moved again within the league and joined Denaby United .
