Edward Czesak

Edward Stanisław Czesak (born February 22, 1951 in Tarnów ) is a Polish politician . He was a local politician, was a member of the Sejm from 2005 to 2015 and has been a member of the European Parliament since 2015 .

He finished his studies at the Mining and Metallurgy Academy in Cracow . He ran his own business. From 1998 to 2002 he was chairman of the Brzesko City Council .

In the 2005 parliamentary elections , he was elected to the Sejm for the first time with 7,529 votes on the list of Prawo i Sprawiedliwość (Law and Justice - PiS) for the constituency of Tarnów . He was also re-elected in the parliamentary elections that followed. In 2014 he ran unsuccessfully for the European Parliament , but on 11 June 2015 he succeeded the elected President Andrzej Duda and resigned his mandate in the Sejm.
