Dálvares is a place and a former municipality ( freguesia ) in northwestern Portugal . It belongs to the Tarouca county in the Viseu district . The community had an area of 2.8 km² and 686 inhabitants (as of June 30, 2011).
On September 29, 2013, the municipalities of Dálvares and Tarouca were merged to form the new municipality of União das Freguesias de Tarouca e Dálvares .
