Post Danmark is a Danish postal company and a subsidiary of Postnord . Until 2010 the company was the state postal service provider for Denmark. The company has been operating under the brand of the parent company since 2016.
history
The headquarters were in the Centralpostbygningen building in Copenhagen, built in 1912 .
The modern Post Danmark company was founded in 1991 when the state authority was transformed into a public company. It was 100 percent owned by the Danish Ministry of Transport. In 2002 the Folketing decided to privatize Post Danmark and turn it into a private joint-stock company. Three years later, 22 percent of the shares were bought by CVC Capital Partners , who sold this package back to the Danish state in 2009. 3 percent of the shares were given to Swiss Post employees.
On June 24, 2009, Post Danmark and Swedish Post ( Posten AB ) merged into a joint stock company. The new joint post appeared in Denmark and Sweden until 2016 with national subsidiaries Post Danmark and Posten . The joint stock company was initially called Post Norden , since 2011 PostNord . The Swedish state holds 60 percent of the shares, the Danish 40.
Until 2015, the name Post Danmark was also associated with the internationally known Post Danmark Rundt cycle race .
