history

Datwyler Pharma Packaging

In 1939 the "Rubberfabriek Helvoet" was founded in Hellevoetsluis (Netherlands) by a former rubber planter from Indonesia . Since the raw materials were scarce at that time, the company focused on the production of technical rubber with low material value but high added value. In 1955 the production of pharmaceutical rubber closures for the Dutch market started. The production of technical and pharmaceutical products in the same factory was common at the time.

In 1969 the company was bought by Dätwyler Holding AG. In the same year, the 22nd WHO report on the requirements for the manufacture of pharmaceutical products was published. Since the factory did not meet these requirements, a second factory was opened in Alken . The production of technical parts remained in Hellevoetsluis , the production of pharmaceutical products took place in the new factory.

In 1970 the actual Helvoet Pharma NV was founded in Alken . Helvoet Pharma USA was founded in 1981, followed by Helvoet Pharma Italy in 1987. In 1995 Helvoet Pharma Pohl / Bico bought aluminum covers , in 2001 Wheaton Pharmatech in the USA, 2004 Seal Line in Italy and 2006 the "Hospira Pharma Rubber Business" (USA).

Production in a new factory in Alken started in 2009. The products were sold under the name FirstLine . From October 1, 2011, the previous Helvoet Pharma appeared on the market under the company and the Dätwyler brand .

Datwyler Sealing Technologies

Datwyler Sealing Technologies has its roots in the Swiss wire and rubber works , which Adolf Dätwyler took over in 1915. In 1917, the then financially troubled Swiss Wire and Rubber Works were taken over by a financial syndicate on the initiative of Datwyler. Adolf Dätwyler became the majority shareholder in 1920 through a management buy-out . In 1939, the largest rubber mixing plant in Switzerland went into service.

In 1973 a branch was established in Germany , and one year later another in France . In 1996 another branch followed in the USA , in 2000 one in the Czech Republic , 2003 in Ukraine and 2008 in Mexico . In 2011 another location was opened in China . The Daetwyler Sealing Technologies division appeared under the Daetwyler brand (previously Daetwyler Rubber) on October 1, 2011.

Datwyler Sealing Solutions

As of November 2012, the two previously independent divisions were merged to form the new Sealing Solutions division.
