Dédougou is a city and a department in the West African state of Burkina Faso and is the capital of the Boucle du Mouhoun region and the Mouhoun province . 86,965 people live in the main town, which is divided into seven sectors, and the 37 surrounding villages.
Peanuts and cotton are the main crops in the area. The Dédougous airfield has the international identification DGU . The festival des masques et des arts (FESTIMA) also takes place here regularly .
Dédougou is the seat of the Diocese of Dédougou .
