Dölf Früh (* 1952 ) is a Swiss entrepreneur and sports official.

Life

He was born early in 1952 and grew up on a farm in Hemberg in the canton of St. Gallen . He used to be a military rider . He later switched to skiing and kickboxing . He is married early and has three children. He lives in Teufen in the canton of Appenzell Ausserrhoden .

Entrepreneur

In 1984, Früh founded Media Swiss, which produced town and city maps. He later developed the market portal "Gate 24" with his company. In February 2007, Früh took over Media Swiss with Media Swiss, founder and operator of Scout24 Switzerland . The takeover gave Media Swiss a 49.9 percent stake in Scout24 Switzerland. At the end of 2007, Früh sold a majority stake in Media Swiss to Ringier for a three-digit million sum , but retained operational management of the company together with Daniel Grossen, the founder of Xmedia. Both retained a 20 percent stake in Media Swiss.

Sports official

In 2001 Früh became a sponsor of the Swiss football club FC Wil . At the end of 2010, Früh and five other investors saved the FC St. Gallen football club from bankruptcy with CHF 10 million. Früh's share was 2.7 million francs. Früh has been President of FC St. Gallen since December 2010. In April 2017, Früh announced his resignation.
