John D'Arcy Coulson (born February 17, 1908 in Greater Sudbury , Ontario ; † April 13, 1996 ) was a Canadian ice hockey player who played 28 games for the Philadelphia Quakers in the National Hockey League between 1927 and 1936 has denied on the position of defender .

Career

After Coulson had attended Loyola College , he played in the Ottawa City League for the Ottawa Shamrocks from 1927 before moving to the United States in 1930 . There he played in seven games for the Chicago Shamrocks in the United States Amateur Hockey Association .

In search of reinforcements, the defender was committed during the 1930/31 season on December 15, 1930 - as well as Eddie McCalmon - by the Philadelphia Quakers from the National Hockey League . He collected a total of 103 penalty minutes in 28 games over the course of the season. Since the Quakers ceased playing after the season, he was first awarded in September 1931 to the Montreal Maroons . He was then selected in the Dispersal Draft held in November by the Canadiens de Montréal . However, Coulson did not take the opportunity to continue to play in the NHL and waived an employment by the Canadiens. After a three-year hiatus, he completed a few games for the team of the Ottawa-based Royal Canadian Air Force between 1934 and 1936 before ending his career.

As a result, Coulson took over his father's business and ran the hotels he owned in Ottawa, Greater Sudbury and Hull . He died on April 13, 1996 at the age of 88.
