The D-Plane 1 is a delta-wing aircraft in the ultralight class developed by Bart Verhees in Belgium . The machine is designed for amateur construction.
description
The D-Plane 1 is a cantilevered middle-decker with a single-seat, closed cockpit. The fuselage and the wing are made of aluminum tubing and sheet aluminum (Aerospace Aluminum). The wingspan is 4.5 meters and has a wing area of 10 m². The D-1 has a retractable nose wheel and a motor with a pull propeller .
The first flight of the prototype took place in 2004. On its maiden flight, the D-1 had a four-cylinder, four-stroke Subaru EA-71 engine with a displacement of 1.6 liters and an output of 50 hp (37 kW).
The test pilot, flight captain Peter Kuypers, carried out a detailed test flight with the D-1, registration number: F-PDHV, on May 6, 2010, during which the entire flight characteristics of the machines were recorded.
