DADLE ([ D - A la 2 , D - L eu 5 ] - E nkephalin ) is a synthetic opioid peptide with analgesic ( analgesic ) properties.
The peptide sequence is Tyr- D -Ala-Gly-Phe- D -Leu.
Although partially described as a selective agonist on the δ opioid receptor , DADLE also acts agonistically on the μ 1 opioid receptor. In addition to analgesia, the substance causes a temporary decrease in arterial blood pressure and heart rate . With ground squirrels, DADLE is able to induce hibernation in summer . DADLE also increases the survival time of explanted organs such as the liver and lungs.
