Tsheten Drölma ( Tib. Tshe brtan sgrol ma ; * 1937 in Xigazê ), or in another transcription: Tseten Dolma , is a Tibetan singer (soprano) popular in China .
Life
She has been singing since childhood. In 1956 she performed for the first time in Lhasa . She studied in Shanghai at the Conservatory with Professor Wang Pinsu. After graduation, she became a solo performer in the Tibetan Song and Dance Group (Xizang gewutuan). In 1961 she joined the Chinese Communist Party .
On the national holiday in 1959, she made a big appearance in Beijing on the tenth anniversary of the state, where she moved the audience with her performance, the song of the freed serf (Fanshen nongnu ba gechang). In 1964 she was an actress in the great music and dance epic The East is Red (Dongfang hong) with the famous solo The Chairman Mao a long life (Máo zhǔxí, zhù nín wànshòuwújiāng). Her solo performance of A Folk Song in Praise of the Party (Chang zhi shange gei dang ting) won over the audience.
She toured the Soviet Union, Indonesia, Cambodia, Nepal, Yugoslavia, Romania and Nordic countries, the United States, Australia, Cuba, Mexico, as well as African countries and Hong Kong. Their repertoire includes folk songs ( shange ), drinking songs ( jiuge ) and traditional Tibetan songs.
She is a member of the National People's Congress and holds various positions in Chinese and Tibetan music and dance.
She was one of the participants at the big evening gala for the 60th birthday of the People's Republic of China .
