DB class 705

The 705 series includes OTMs the DB network , in particular to the maintenance of the long tunnel on the high-speed lines are used. They are therefore also referred to as tunnel maintenance vehicles (TIF).

In 1992 the vehicle 705 001 was delivered by the German Plasser with the serial number 2454 to the then Deutsche Bundesbahn .

construction

The structure is supported by a welded frame . The workers can walk on the roof and the railings on the roof can be folded down. A lifting platform was also installed on the roof . The railcar also has a lifting platform that can be lifted up to 11 m above the top of the rail.

The interior of the car body are drivers cabs , a multipurpose room, a living room and a wet room installed.

At a distance journeys drives twelve-cylinder - Diesel engine BF 12L513C by KHD to the vehicle. During an investigation drive , a four-cylinder engine BF 4L1011T from KHD with an output of 44 kW keeps the vehicle moving.

The vehicles of the 705.1 series represent a new generation of maintenance vehicles which, in addition to tunnel maintenance, are also used for snow clearing and as track work vehicles. This is why they are also referred to as a multifunctional maintenance vehicle (MISS). Three cranes with a reach of up to 14.5 m are installed. A first example was presented at InnoTrans 2016 in Berlin.

In 2016, Plasser & Theurer delivered vehicles 705 101 and 705 102 (serial numbers 6358 and 6359) to DB Netz .

At the beginning of 2017, DB Netz received the first two vehicles of the 705.2 series. These are intended as multifunctional maintenance vehicle route infrastructure (MISS) for use on the new lines VDE 8.1 ( new line Ebensfeld – Erfurt ) and VDE 8.2 ( new line Erfurt – Leipzig / Halle ) and stationed at the production sites in Erfurt and Halle. You can transport rails up to 20 m in length, clear snow using an attachable cutter, plow or broom, inspect tunnel walls and work with a sleeper compartment gripper. A work platform allows the transport of material and tools. Two cranes with a work basket are also installed. The vehicle has space for eleven people.

After approval by the Federal Railway Authority , a trial run is planned from August 2017.

The vehicles also produced by Plasser & Theurer with the serial numbers 6463 and 6464 run as 705 201 (location Erfurt) and 705 202 (location Halle). DB Netz has acquired a total of three vehicles for the Erfurt – Nuremberg high-speed line.

Together with the vehicles from the 705.1 series, a total of 12 MISS vehicles are to be delivered by November 2017.
