The technology carrier vehicle (TTF) is an auxiliary vehicle of the Deutsche Bahn and should form the 707 series as a single piece . However, after commissioning it was given the company number 97 99 11 001 17-5. The vehicle was manufactured in 1999 by GBM Gleisbaumechanik , the DB's own name is "Train Control Testcar".

The railcar is used to test and further develop the operations control technology, in particular to check and set up components of the ETCS , GSM-R and FFB systems . The vehicle is operated by DB Systemtechnik and is assigned to the Munich Research and Technology Center.

Car body and interior

The underframe and superstructure are welded, the front of the vehicle has been completely redesigned and was later installed in other vehicles by the manufacturer. In addition to two driver's cabs , the interior contains a measuring room with the measuring technology, a lounge and a sanitary room. On one side the vehicle has a loading space door that leads directly into the measuring room so that larger components or measuring equipment can be loaded if necessary.

Bogies and drive

The vehicle is approved for a top speed of 120 km / h, the chassis would allow speeds of up to 200 km / h. There are several measuring devices under the vehicle and on the bogies . To drive a ten-cylinder was MAN - diesel engine with water cooling and turbocharger type D2840LF20 installed.
