The DB railway construction group GmbH is a subsidiary of Deutsche Bahn AG (DB). Since January 1, 2010, this subsidiary has brought together all of the companies in the DB Group that compete for construction work on railway infrastructure in Germany and Europe.

The companies merged with the new DB Bahnbau Gruppe GmbH are:

  • DB Bahnbau GmbH
  • Deutsche Gleis- und Tiefbau GmbH
  • Deutsche Bahn Gleisbau GmbH
  • Engineering, bridge and civil engineering GmbH

DB Bahnbau Gruppe GmbH is a 100% subsidiary of Deutsche Bahn AG and was previously a subsidiary of DB Netz AG until May 31, 2016 .

history

On November 15, 2003, DB Netz AG announced in the Official Journal of the European Union that it wanted to transfer up to 49.9 percent of the shares in DB Bahnbau Gruppe to an investor. After a transition period of up to eight years, the remaining shares should be sold. The plans were abandoned a little later.
