The DIN standard DIN 6779 is a series of standards with the title labeling system for technical products and technical product documentation . It consists of several parts with department-specific specifications.

DIN 6779-1 basics

Part 1 of the standard describes the fundamentals and rules for the labeling system and for the structure and content of labeling blocks for function- and location-related labeling of technical products. The last edition, published in 1995, was withdrawn in 2007 and replaced by the ISO standard ISO / TS 16952 .

DIN 6779-2 code letters; Main classes and subclasses for the purpose or task of objects

Part 2 defines additional sub-classes for the purpose and task of objects in addition to the main classes defined in the European standard EN 61346-2 . DIN 6779-2 has been withdrawn. Its content has been included in EN 81346-2 .
