DJ Lhasa (* 26 November 1968 as Maurizio Braccagni in Milan ) is an Italian DJ and music producer , mainly in the field of dance and techno acts.

Life

1987-1994

DJ Lhasa started his career in 1987 and released his first singles in 1989. In his early years he was active in the techno scene. In 1994 he reached various European charts under the name Two Cowboys (together with Roberto Gallo Salsotto) with the title Everybody Gonfi Gon and subsequently played in many European discos. He cooperated with other well-known dance artists such as Whigfield , JK or Berry.

1995-2002

In 2001 he produced the song Little Girl , published under the name Lilu (together with Graziano Pegoraro), which brought him great international success. In June 2002 he covered the hit Heaven Is a Place on Earth by Belinda Carlisle , which was also internationally successful.

2003-2006

Inspired by this success he covered the song Giulia (originally by Gianni Togni ); this was published all over Europe. The fourth single Together Forever was a cover version of Rick Astley's number one hit (1988). The single No Controles was released in the summer of 2004, followed a year later by the single Mysterious Times . His new album Technologia followed a little later and was sold in Italy, Japan and other European countries.

In 2006 Maurizio founded Braccagni, also known as Ma.Bra. operates his new label Mabra. He released the singles The Riddle , Original Sin and Everybody . He then presented these on various radio stations and in clubs. At the end of 2006 he published Cursed Destiny , which was particularly successful in the northern countries of Europe.

2007-2009

In 2007 he released CDs and EP's thanks to the collaboration with the company "Believe". From 2007 he works almost exclusively under the name Ma.Bra. and releases numerous new single releases in Italy.

style

The music produced by DJ Lhasa is composed of fast, different beats, which are underlaid with an extremely brisk rhythm. Above all, his music contains electronic dance elements that are used to the utmost and integrated into his songs. Most of the time he hardly ever uses hard basses, but the diverse vocal parts in his songs are convincing, especially modified by electronically integrated sound technology. Voices are also distorted and appropriately faded out.

Since he has already produced songs together with other well-known DJs, he is one of the top DJs on the Italian dance / disco scene. The German word dance also plays an important role in the song Super Tanz (2006). It offers the artist a variation on the already standardized English word dance . In the song a monotonous, repetitive numbering of the words dance, dance, night, night, music, music, your feelings appears . Even with other DJs such as B. Gigi D'Agostino , the word has enormous value. His ability to produce varied dance songs makes him a master of his genre.
