Daan Myngheer (born April 13, 1993 in Roeselare , Belgium , † March 28, 2016 in Ajaccio , France ) was a Belgian cyclist .
Life
In 2011 Myngheer was Belgian junior road racing champion . He was twice champion of the province of West Flanders , 2010 as a junior and 2013 in the U-23 class.
On March 26, 2016, he started at the Critérium International 2016 in Corsica . On the last 25 kilometers of the first stage, Myngheer let himself fall back from the field and later received medical care. While being taken to Ajaccio hospital by an ambulance , he suffered a heart attack and cardiac arrest . He died in the hospital as a result of the heart attack.
