Dagala ( Dzongkha : དར་ དཀར་ ལ་ ), also Darkarla , is one of eight Gewogs (blocks) of the Dzongkhag Thimphu in Western Bhutan . Dagla Gewog is in turn divided into five Chiwogs (constituencies). According to the census of 2005, 1497 people in 247 households live in this weight on an area of 101 km². The Dzongkhag Administration states in its website as of June 2015 an area of 85 km² and 41 households.

The Gewog is located in the south of the Thimphu district and extends over altitudes between 2280 and 4713  m . The population of the Gewogs earned their living almost exclusively as a nomadic yak - herders . Although the income is relatively high, the general standard of living is low. Attempts by the government to settle the population of Dagala in Chamgang have not been very successful. The seasonal migrations with the herds are still going on, making it difficult to find services such as B. Healthcare. In Chamgang in the far north of the Gewog there is at least one secondary school ( Lower Secondary School ).
