Dagmar Pruin

Dagmar Pruin (* 1970 in Leer ) is a German Protestant theologian .

biography

Dagmar Pruin studied Protestant theology at the universities in Hamburg , Göttingen and Berlin as well as Jewish studies at the Hebrew University in Jerusalem . From 1998 she worked as a research assistant at the chair of Rüdiger Liwak for the Old Testament and the history of Israel at the theological faculty of the Humboldt University in Berlin. 2004 doctorate them about stories and history. She was director of the program “Germany Close Up - American Jews meet Modern Germany” and is a founding member of the research area “Religion and Politics” at the Humboldt University.

From 2013, Pruin was co- managing director of the Action Reconciliation Service for Peace (ASF) and as this was also pastor in the church district of Berlin Stadtmitte . Her work focuses on the Christian-Jewish dialogue, Christian anti-Judaism and the relationship between religion and politics. She is a member of the theological committee of the Evangelical Reformed Church , member of the conference for peace work in the EKD area , member of the conference of evangelical voluntary services and board member of the Action Group Service for Peace (AGDF).

In March 2020, Dagmar Pruin was introduced as the future president of the aid and development organizations Bread for the World and Diakonie Katastrophenhilfe . She is to take up her new office on March 1, 2021 as the successor to Cornelia Füllkrug-Weitzel .
