Dagoberto Fontes (born June 6, 1943 ) is a former Uruguayan football player .

The 1.77-meter-tall, Maldonado- born offensive player Fontes had been a member of the Defensors squad in the Primera División since 1966 . When Alejandro Morales took care of the team for the last time in 1970 , Fontes and his teammates were only just able to avoid relegation to the "B" in the relegation round. In the following year he played under the new coach Ricardo de León for the Violets before he decided to move to Mexico in 1972. In the 1971/72 season he was there at the side of players like Luis Ramon Perez , Juan Carlos Cardenas , Martin Ibarreche , Juan Carlos Sconfianza and Bernardino Brambila in the ranks of the Mexican club Puebla FC .

National team

Fontes was also a member of the senior national team of Uruguay , for which he completed 13 international matches between May 21, 1968 and June 20, 1970. He did not score an international goal. Fontes took part in the 1970 World Cup with Uruguay . There he was used in the course of the tournament in the preliminary round match against Sweden and in the quarter and semi-finals, as well as in the game for third place .
