Dagur Kári

Dagur Kári Pétursson , usually short Dagur Kári (born December 12, 1973 in Aix-en-Provence ) is an Icelandic filmmaker.

Life

Kári was born to Icelandic parents in Aix-en-Provence ( France ) and came to Iceland at the age of three. His father is the writer and translator Pétur Gunnarsson .

From 1995 to 1999 he attended the Danish Film School . There he shot the short film Old Spice and his graduation film Lost Weekend . His first feature film, Nói Albínói , was released in 2003 and was a huge success in Scandinavia.

He also plays in the Icelandic band Slowblow , which has contributed the soundtrack to all of his films so far.
