Dailis Alfonsas Barakauskas

Dailis Alfonsas Barakauskas (born June 29, 1952 in Geručiai , Pakruojis Rajongemeinde ) is a Lithuanian politician, former Minister of Transport and the Interior of Lithuania .

biography

After graduating from secondary school Žeimelis near Pakruojis in 1970, Barakauskas completed his diploma studies at the Politechnikos institutas in Kaunas from 1970 to 1975 and in 1989 he studied international relations at Vilnius University .

As of 2008 Barakauskas was Honorary Consul of Sri Lanka . From 1997 to 2000 he was a member of the Šiauliai Municipality Council . From 2000 to 2004 and from 2008 to 2012 he was a member of the Seimas and Minister of Transport of Lithuania in 2001 , and Minister of Interior of Lithuania from 2012 to 2014 . He resigned for health reasons.

Barakauskas is married and has two daughters with his wife.
