Daisuke Saitō ( Japanese 斎 藤 大 輔 , Saitō Daisuke ; born November 19, 1974 in Aichi Prefecture ) is a former Japanese football player .

Career

Saitō learned to play football in the university team of Chūō University . He signed his first contract with Gamba Osaka in 1997 . The club played in the highest league in the country, the J1 League . For the club he completed 63 first division games. In 2000 he moved to league rivals Cerezo Osaka . In 2001 he reached the final of the Kaiser Cup . At the end of the 2001 season, the club was relegated to the J2 League . For the club he completed 61 games. In May 2002 he moved to the first division team JEF United Ichihara (today: JEF United Chiba). In 2005 and 2006 he won the J.League Cup with the club . For the club he completed 197 first division games. At the end of 2009 he ended his career as a football player.
