Dale Stetina
Dale Stetina (born July 9, 1956 in Cleveland , Ohio ) is a retired American cyclist .
Dale Stetina won a US championship title twice, in 1978 and 1980 in the amateur road race .
In 1979 and 1983 Stetina won the Coors International Bicycle Classic , in 1983 and 1984 the Cascade Cycling Classic . In 1980 he won the overall ranking of the Vuelta Ciclista a Costa Rica with 30 minutes ahead of the runner-up and in 1981 in the Vuelta de República Dominicana . In 1980 he decided the charity race Mount Washington Auto Road Bicycle Hillclimb , which goes steeply uphill for more than twelve kilometers, in the record time of 58 minutes and 41 seconds, which was only beaten in 1997 by Tyler Hamilton .
Dale Stetina is the brother of racing cyclist Wayne Stetina and father of Peter Stetina .
In 2007, Dale Stetina was inducted into the United States Bicycling Hall of Fame .
